Novels I've recently read...

Anyone here have subscribe to buy novels from Reader Digest before ? Because the novels are very nice and interesting to read. It's so interesting that I can finish the whole book that have around 600 pages in just a few days.

Let's See, anyone have heard before of "Dead Simple" written by Peter James ? Its about Roy Grace of Sussex CID that could be the new Morse. He's clever, he's determined, and he's willing to use unconventional methods to solve the tantalizing mystery of bridegroom Michael Harrison's disappearance just days before his wedding. This roller-coaster ride of a story will have you gripped by its dizzying twists and turns as Grace searches, against the clock, for the missing young man.

Another one is "The Double Eagle" written by James Twining. The story is about an incredibly rare and precious coin known as The Double Eagle which was stolen from Fort Knox, FBI Agent Jennifer Browne is determined to get them back. Her main suspect is international art thief Tom Kirk, but he is also Jennifer's only hope of penetrating Europe's dangerous art underworld.

Other than that, there is still "Diving Through Clouds" written by Nicola Lindsay. It is mainly about a lady named Kate Fitzgerald that has made a mess of her life. Trapped in a loveless marriage, she and her husband have drifted apart. Her daughter abandoned the family years ago and Kate has never met her grandson. Now she has one last chance to set things right. But for this she's going to need a little divine help.

Another interesting story is "The Closers" written by Michael Connelly. Investigator Harry Bosch is drawn out of retirement to work for the LAPD's cold case unit on a crime that has haunted them for seventeen years. For the police department it is a blemish on the records, but for the Verloren family it is an open wound. New evidence found may help Bosch to bring Rebecca Verloren's killer to justice at last.

"Under Orders" is a book written by Dick Francis. One of our all-time favourite storytellers is back with his first new novel in six years. Starring Sid Halley, the ex-champion jockey hero of Francis's early blockbusters, it is bang up-to-date on today's racing issues and mixes page-turning excitement with a touch of romance, as Halley finds himself on the brink engagement to Marina van deer Meer.

One of my favourite is "The Husband" written by Dean Koontz because it is very touching that I even cried especially at the climax when the husband will do whatever it takes to save his wife. Imagine getting a ransom demand and knowing you can't possibly pay even though the life of the one person you love is on the line. That's the gripping premise of The Husband, a tense thriller about a young gardener, Mitch Rafferty, who is forced to avoid the police in order to make a bold, single-handed attempt to save his wife. This is rated as Dean Koontz's best yet.

Another touching book is "Scared To Live" written by Stephen Booth because it shows that a father would go as far as anything to save his child. A double treat for crime fans. Not only is this novel set in the stunning Peak District of England, rich in history and atmosphere but Booth's detective duo, DS Diane Fry and DC Ben Cooper, are addictively likable. While investigating two seemingly unrelated crimes, the detectives stumble upon a surprising Bulgarian connection.

Lastly another book I have read is " Orbit" written by John Nance. For Kip Dawson, winning a seat on a commercial space flight is a dream come true until disaster strikes. Trapped in space, seemingly out of communication, he starts writing a record for his family on a laptop, oblivious that a young hacker in Western Australia manages to receive it. whereupon a worldwide audience, reading his every word, waits on tenterhooks for news of Kip's fate.

So that's what I have read so far. Currently, waiting for the new edition. =)
